Skype finally on Android

Well, today Skype finally released their application for Android (version 2.1 and up) and about time. It’s been months since it was announced and we’ve all been waiting to use it.

Myki Ticketing in Melbourne

So after a long hiatus, I’m back with yet another rant. This time it relates to the Myki ticketing system which is now “running” on Melbourne’s public transport system. I put “running” in quotation marks, because as everyone knows, it’s not really running in the proper sense. Information Security Rant

Well, since this is now working, I might as well begin.  So for my first rant (and the first thing I need to get off my chest), I will be talking about basic information security.  

In this day and age, many people access computer networks in day-to-day life, and for many of the things we access (whether it be a corporate network / email, or personal email, etc) we have usernames and passwords.  These are in place to stop unauthorised people accessing your private material, or even behaving as you (ie identity theft).   Read the rest of this entry »
